Scott Baker joined Pure in 2019 as VP of FlashArray Product Marketing to lead a dynamic team in the FlashArray Business Unit. Scott partners closely with industry analysts; speaks at industry events; and develops the overall product messaging, go-to-market, content strategy, and enablement plans for his business unit. In a career spanning more than 25 years, Scott has worked in enterprise IT and built products and services for the SMB, enterprise, and Federal sectors that span systems and application management, managed services, and public cloud. Prior to Pure, Scott spent six years at Hitachi Vantara as the senior director of the Content Platform product-marketing team that focused on next-generation object-storage platforms that combine unstructured data analytics and workflows with highly performing Amazon S3 storage platforms, user file synchronization and sharing, and edge-based file gateway devices. Prior to Hitachi Vantara, Scott led the product marketing and product management teams for HPE’s Data Protector software application. Previous roles include leadership and engineering positions for NetApp, EMC, and NASA’s International Space Station program. Scott also served as a member of the U.S. Army. Scott holds a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Computer Science from Columbia Southern University and an MBA from the University of North Alabama.
