Pure1 Updates

  • Self-service authentication registration, released on April 12, 2023:
    • In addition to the standard account credentials for Pure1 access, step-up authentication is being facilitated through your mobile device’s text/SMS to ensure all operations to your FlashArray™ appliances are performed only by fully authorized individuals.
    • Authentication registration now uses a self-service model. Register your phone number by updating your user profile for step-up authentication. Pure Technical Services is no longer required to complete the registration process.
  • Subscriptions page refresh, released on April 12, 2023:
    • The subscription page has a new look and feel for Evergreen//One™ subscriptions! It has all the same functionality but now with a more intuitive design for a better user experience. We’ve also added energy efficiency/power usage metrics. At a glance, you can view subscription statuses and determine what requires your attention, plus review details on individual license usage.

January 2023

Pure1 Updates

  • Pure1 Edge Service: Now supports Pure Cloud Block Store™ arrays, released on January 31, 2023:
      • With a minimum version of Purity//FA 6.3.7, Pure1 Edge Service now supports Pure Cloud Block Store arrays.
  • Support cases: New product fields available on the open support cases dialog, released on January 18, 2023:
      • In an effort to streamline the process, the dialog to open support cases has been redesigned. You can now be more specific in the assignment of new cases. This helps in the routing of the ticket through Pure Technical Services and ultimately creates a more efficient and timely operation.
  • Workload planning: Curated recommendations, released on January 13, 2023:
      • Pure system engineers can now create custom recommendations for adding data packs and upgrading controller hardware. Leveraging simulations they run for your fleet using the Workload Planning tool, these customized offerings are built on the technical skills of a dedicated Pure system engineer, their knowledge of your setup, workloads, and previous conversations. Curated recommendations provide a hand-crafted solution to the challenges facing your fleet. These are displayed on the Marketplace > Catalog page with standard recommendations generated by Pure1 Meta® model predictions. An icon on the card differentiates these curated recommendations to indicate they were manually created by an individual.
  • Pure1 Marketplace: Evergreen//Flex™ quote request available for FlashBlade®, released on January 13, 2023:
      • Evergreen//Flex is now available for FlashBlade from Pure1 Marketplace > Catalog. With this new enhancement, you can request a quote for an Evergreen//Flex subscription for a FlashBlade system. Within the same quote request, you can associate multiple license types and controller types. You can also request a specific reserved capacity for each license.
  • Workload planning: Effective Used Capacity (EUC) projections now available for subscription appliances, released on January 12, 2023:
      • Using the planning tool, you can now run workload simulations for your subscription (Pure as-a-Service™) appliances and view Effective Used Capacity (EUC) projections. This metric provides another important value to more clearly evaluate the impact of workload changes on the capacity of your appliance. Note, currently these metrics are not available for a CAPEX (ownership) to PaaS (subscription) workload migration simulation.
  • Pure Fusion: Rebalance recommendations from the Workload Planner, released on January 6, 2023:
    • With this enhancement, when rebalancing, Pure Fusion now leverages the power of the Workload Planner to make optimal target array placement recommendations with the option to initiate the workload migration. Manual placement is also still available.
