To mark its dramatic growth in EMEA, Pure Storage is hosting a series of customer events across EMEA this season. Partly as a ‘Thank You’ to those who have helped us to grow so quickly and partly as a welcome to future friends of Pure, the events highlight the impact that flash will have on European businesses as the flash transformation hits the region.
During each event, we bring together European thought leaders to speak about how flash memory will impact European business over the next decade. Featuring channel partner leaders, local technology leaders, and customers of Pure, the events focus on sharing the experiences of early adopters of the FlashArray and projecting forward what flash can do to accelerate businesses in Europe. Pure customers spoke out on their own experiences going through this transformation, including online gaming company Betfair, engineering firm Antea Group (formerly Oranjewoud), billion-dollar asset mangement firm Investec and healthcare provider AZ Sint-Jan Brugge-Ostende AV. We were also joined by key leaders from partners EIS in Amsterdam and Softcat in the UK.
The Amsterdam Pure event was held appropriately in a building with a controversial history. Beurs van Berlage translates to “the stock exchange of Berlage.” Amsterdam was the first city to open a stock exchange in the world, in the 1600’s, which flourished and expanded into increasingly larger buildings over the next several hundred years. Then, at the turn of the last century, van Berlag won the contract to build a new, larger stock exchange in the center of the city. He built a sparse, simple architecture that broke entirely with convention at the time, which resulted in deeply negative criticism upon its unveiling. However, today, Berlag is considered the father of Dutch modern architecture. We at Pure are fans of courageous architects in every discipline, and found this venue to be a perfect location to demonstrate our FlashArray’s performance and resilience.
Pure was featured in coverage from press and analysts that attended the event (obviously in Dutch):
The Mandarin Oriental was chosen to provide our guests with a truly exceptional experience in a luxurious venue, and enabling a substantive discussion about flash in the enterprise. The featured speakers included Simon Robinson, Vice President of the 451 Group and head of their storage practice, as well as leaders from our technology and channel partners and customers. The networking event was compelling enough that our guests stayed far beyond the closing of the bar. We’ll be posting a video of the event once it becomes available on our YouTube channel. Below, select articles from the London event:
Next up are the events in Germany in February. For Germany, we’re expecting a similar appearance. Why not join us to learn about what German technology and business leaders are learning about deploying flash in their enterprises?
