Pure Storage wins ‘Innovative Vendor’ at GEC Awards in Middle East

Pure Storage was recognized as the “Innovative Vendor” in Storage at Enterprise Channels MEA’s annual GEC Awards gala, held in Dubai.

We believe this award represents a number of achievements for Pure. This includes our steadfast commitment to regional customers, and the strong relationships we have built in the insurance, banking, education and government sectors. It’s also an endorsement of our market-leading portfolio including FlashBlade™, our all-flash array built for high-performance, unstructured-data workloads, and FlashArray//X, our first all-NVMe, enterprise-class, all-flash array for high-performance structured-data workloads among other solutions. Finally, we believe we have been named an innovator for our disruption of a storage industry previously entrenched in an outdated mode of thinking.

We have a strong culture of innovation – we pioneered all-flash storage solutions and are now extending this innovation lead with 100 percent NVMe and artificial intelligence solutions that are driving adoption of emerging technologies. This is why we’ve maintained our position as a Leader for the fifth consecutive year in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays.

Our Evergreen business model also led the industry. Pure’s solutions are engineered from ground up to enable customers to maintain and update storage arrays at regular intervals without downtime or major product replacements and we remain the only vendor able to deliver this.

We are also leading the way in storage for AI and machine learning, with AI Ready Infrastructure (AIRITM and AIRI Mini), the industry’s first infrastructure built for streamlining the deployment of AI. With the rise of machine learning and AI technologies, data has shifted from being an informational asset to the core of innovation. According to a survey conducted by MIT Technology Review, commissioned by Pure Storage, an overwhelming 82 percent of leaders in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) say that AI will give them more time to think creatively about business challenges. But while 80 percent believe that technology can help them develop new propositions for customers and sell more effectively, more than half (58 percent) cite access to technology as the primary barrier to adoption of AI. Innovations like AIRI and AIRI Mini will enable MEA organizations to unlock the potential of their AI investments.

Finally, to innovate and survive in a business environment that is increasingly data-driven, organizations must design their IT infrastructure with data in mind and have complete, real-time access to that data. We recently outlined our vision of a data hub—a data-centric architecture designed not only to store data, but to unify, share and deliver data.

Our laser focus on delivering innovations that address customer needs, enabling them to take advantage of their data, has propelled us to success in the region. According to IDC we are the fastest growing vendor in our market―growing in EMEA at a CAGR of over 90 percent from 2014 to 2017. This year, we crossed the $1 billion milestone in annual revenue and made our first acquisition, as a listed company, in StorReduce—a cloud-first, software-defined storage solution for managing large-scale unstructured data.

We’re grateful to receive recognition for our efforts, but these milestones would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our customers, our partners and Pure team members. Our thanks go out to all of you, we can’t wait to see what we achieve together in the months and years ahead.

We are at Gitex from 14-18th October. If you plan on attending the show, then be sure to stop by our booth (Hall 6, Stand A7-10) for a chat.
