It was a fun, action-packed week at VMworld! We had literally thousands of people come by the Pure Storage booth to check out the FlashArray, and were demonstrating live 100% flash performance on three block storage protocols: Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and our newest block device – the LEGO FlashArray!
We ran a live contest asking folks to guess how many LEGOs it took to make a FlashArray to win big prizes…and we were surprised to see how many LEGO flash storage enthusiasts there were out there – some spending nearly an hour counting blocks in the booth.
Some stats from the contest….
- Thousands of entries
- Lowest guess: 400
- Highest guess: 1.6M
- The real answer: 6,128!
Believe it or not, our winner submitted an EXACT GUESS, taking home the iPhone 5 (whatever it is, whenever it ships).
Congrats to our Grand Prize Winner (iPhone 5): Michael Dehler, Strata Marketing, with a guess of 6,128
And congrats to our runner-up prize winners, receiving Star Wars LEGO kits:
- David Osuna, Heritage Auctions
- Kristopher Velaquez, Lockheed Martin
- Brian Rittencour, Wastren-EnergX Mission Support
Thanks to all for participating in the fun…and as cool as the LEGO FlashArray was, if you’d like to see a live demo of the real FlashArray, drop us a line.
