With every year of global growth, we are in an even stronger position to support our customers with the challenges and opportunities facing them. This year I am honoured to be leading not only Pure Storage in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) but also in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) and Latin America. With the international teams contributing 29 percent of our revenue in Q4FY20, the innovation and dedication we are seeing across the regions is incredible. To be tasked with leading that charge fills me with excitement and positivity for the year ahead.
Looking back over the past year it’s clear to see that our customer-first philosophy is as strong today as it was when Pure Storage started ten years ago. This is evident through our commitment to innovation, with our industry-first solutions helping to solve real-world challenges for our customers and deliver digital transformation. It also explains how we have maintained our Net Promoter Score (NPS) in the top 1% of B2Bs for four years in a row.
Customers at the heart of our strategy
The past year has been a game changer for us. We’re leading the charge to help our customers build a better world with data. In November we announced our cloud strategy with the belief that customers should be able to make infrastructure choices based on what’s best for their organization — unconstrained by the limitations of legacy technology or having to make trade-offs between storing their data on-prem or in the cloud. With Cloud Data Services customers no longer have to compromise. Now they have a choice.
Prior to that, the momentum of product innovation achieved this past year is equally customer centric; whether it’s making artificial intelligence a reality with AI-Ready Infrastructure, enabling customers to create a data-centric architecture with Data Hub, taking NVMe and NVMe-oF mainstream – we’re consistently engineering solutions that our customers are telling us they need.
Growing the CTO team
The product innovation we develop needs a stellar team to deliver it to customers. It needs experts who can perfectly bridge the product engineering and sales teams, and work with customers on building their data-centric architectures. This is precisely why we were so thrilled to introduce our global CTO team this year, welcoming Nathan Hall, Patrick Smith and Matthew Oostveen as field CTOs for the Americas, EMEA and APJ respectively.

In an impressive portfolio that already boasts the likes of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, Berrios and Toyota, we also welcome customers from the manufacturing, retail and consumer goods sectors.
Brother Commercial (Thailand): Keeping them ahead of the competition with a reliable, future-proof data platform – driving sales and customer satisfaction.
Equity Trustees (Australia): Reducing the risk of downtime means the business can focus on providing great service to its extensive client base.
Workpac Group (Australia): Freeing up the IT team so they can focus on higher-value tasks – with the business now looking forward to adopting AI technologies.
Grupo MTNG (Spain): Creating time for the IT team at this fashion brand to focus on innovation rather than maintenance-heavy tasks.
Keyyo (France): Improving user-experience for the customers of this leading operator of Unified Communications.
MDC BMS (UAE): helping grow their shareholder’s asset base and maintain competitive advantage by enabling faster and better decision making.
Agrosuper (Chile): Simplifying storage infrastructure operation with a better TCO in comparison to previous technology and with CAT for SAP, it could complete the copying and cloning of a 21TB database – a process that usually took days – in just 20 minutes.
Industry and Partner Recognition
Our commitment to our ever growing global customer base is an essential part of the Pure ethos, so it’s great validation when this is recognised by the industry. In Gartner Peer Insights “Voice of the Customer”: Solid-State Arrays, Pure was listed with the highest overall rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 250 verified peer reviews, more than twice as many reviews as the next-closest vendor – what a way to see out the financial year.
We couldn’t deliver this level of service without the help of our channel partners. To be recognised as Datacentre Vendor of the Year at the CRN Channel Awards, is a testament to the continued collaboration and partnership between our channel community and the wider team here at Pure.
We’re pleased with the role we’re playing to help our customers across the world make the most of this data – but we’re by no means done yet. Too many businesses are not realising their full potential, are having to compromise on infrastructure or spending too much time on maintenance as opposed to innovation.
