It was good to have a long weekend to recover from the week that was VMworld 2019. It was a full week of customers, keynotes, sessions, presentations, meetings, and demos. (And puppies. We can’t forget the puppies.)

For me, one of the best parts of industry events is connecting directly with the people who use our products. Likewise, the opportunity to share information and best practices with partners and peers is invaluable. Thanks to Cisco, NVIDIA, Veeam, Veritas, VMware, and Dizzion for sharing their knowledge and presenting in our in-booth theater.

Pure provides the data platform for VMware solutions with integrated virtualization, automation, and orchestration. Pure can help you virtualize all your data center apps and desktops, consolidate workloads with confidence, and easily automate and increase IT productivity. Learn more about our technology partnership with VMware.

ICYMI: Session Videos

Our teams had a lot to say about Virtual Volumes (vVols) and Kubernetes in VMworld breakout sessions. There’s no need to fret if you weren’t on site in San Francisco to get your fill. Or you couldn’t get in to see all the Pure sessions (they were crowded). Or you want to revisit the sessions you did attend. VMworld has already posted the breakout sessions online.

You can also catch the Monday and Tuesday general sessions if you missed the main stage demos. You’ll have to log in or create a VMworld account to view, but it’s worth the quick form fill.

Pure + VMware Case Studies

It’s one thing to learn about technology through presentations and demos, but another to hear from the organizations that have implemented Pure solutions. Here are a few organizations using Pure solutions with their VMware implementations.

The Choctaw Nation (above) has improved storage infrastructure performance and efficiency, allowing the indigenous tribe to significantly reduce response times when accessing patient records and other vital healthcare information.

Chapman University has simplified storage management to ensure that faculty, staff, and students have faster access to data and enterprise applications.

CSK Legal uses Pure Storage as its storage standard, reaping the benefits of maximal reliability, minimal demands for administration, and lower total cost of ownership. “Pure integrates so well with all the other elements of our infrastructure,” says the firm’s CIO Jason Thomas. “The integration with VMware is seamless. Anyone can manage it.”

California’s Walnut Valley Water District has increased productivity with Pure Storage’s FlashArray™ and strengthened its business-continuity strategy through the use of Pure’s ActiveCluster™ feature.

Reval, the leading global provider of scalable cloud solutions for treasury and risk management, is using Pure arrays to advance its service levels, accelerate time to revenue, and excel operationally.

Vaughn Stewart on theCUBE

In his interview, Pure’s Vice President of Technology Alliances Vaughn Stewart touches base about the past 10 years at VMworld, the rise of Pure Storage, and how storage platforms deliver value to hybrid clouds above and beyond common VMware APIs and alongside HCI platforms.
