Gartner Peer Insights recognized Pure Storage® FlashArray as a Customers’ Choice in the 2020 Gartner Peer Insights ‘Voice of the Customer”: Primary Storage. This recognition is important to us because it comes from the people who use our products to support their business needs.
From our start in 2009, we’ve kept a customer-first mindset as we focused on building the best storage solutions. We ignored legacy rules and constraints. Our goal has always been to provide an innovative modern data platform that is constantly evolving and improving.
The industry has recognized the result of our completeness of vision and ability to execute. Pure Storage placed in the Leaders Quadrant in the Sept 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage. To us, it’s an important recognition. In 2019, Gartner combined the solid-state and general-purpose array reports into a single evaluation for primary storage.
This is also the second consecutive time that Pure Storage has received a Customers’ Choice designation. In November 2018, Gartner named Pure Storage as a Customers’ Choice for Solid-State Arrays. Gartner also consolidated these in the Customers’ Choice recognition. We think this notes that solid-state arrays are gaining traction in the enterprise and represent an ever-growing segment of primary shipments.
According to Gartner, solid-state arrays represented 42% share of the total external controller-based (ECB) enterprise storage market in 2018 and that share is forecast to grow to 68% in 2022.
Gartner continues to have a Critical Capabilities for Solid State Arrays report. In October 2019, FlashArray scored highest compared among other vendors in two of five categories: Server Virtualization and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
All-flash arrays have evolved in recent years. Once considered high-end storage for performance-starved applications, they’re now a mainstay of primary and consolidated data-center storage. Pure started the all-flash revolution by designing a solution built both for performance and important modern data requirements including: efficiency, resilience, effortless deployment, and management.
Meanwhile, the unique engineering of the Evergreen™ platform eliminates the requirement for forklift and disruptive upgrades, whether for new hardware or software features.
Pure continues to meet changing customer demands by enhancing Evergreen. For example, Pure has:
- Increased application performance with FlashArray. It’s now built with 100% NVMe and optional NVMe-oF for optimum performance density.
- Increased performance with the industry’s first plug-and-play storage-class memory upgrade for databases with the highest performance requirements.
- Released FlashArray//C, a new all-flash offering for tier 2 workloads. Use cases include tiered virtual machine environments, snapshot repositories, backup targets, and efficient test/dev environments, to name a few.
Innovations don’t come only from hardware improvements. We’re constantly providing customer-driven software innovations including data reduction, efficient snapshots, business continuity, and cloud mobility.
Our Medallia audited Net Promoter Score of 82 was more than twice the B2B average of 40 and the highest among Medallia B2B scores in 2019.
We think our new Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice recognition for Primary Storage reinforces that we’ve continued to meet the challenge of delighting our customers.
