When the foundation of a business rests on data storage and access, you take security very seriously. At Pure, this means paying close attention to every business process that could provide an opening to online attackers—and closing those gaps ASAP.
By achieving ISO 27001 certification, a standard for information security management, we’re showing our commitment to protecting our data. I’m proud of our Pure Storage team for the months of hard work it took to achieve this certification!
But what does ISO 27001 mean to customers? The certification tells them that we’re meeting universally accepted standards for managing data in organizations. The data we’re protecting under ISO 27001 includes:
- Financial information
- Intellectual property
- Employee data
- Third-party data
That “third parties” group is our customer data, which is immensely valuable to our customers and to us at Pure. Because we have the ISO 27001 certification, our customers have the peace of mind that their data rests safely with us and that we prioritize their highest concerns about security. To gain this certification through an independent audit, we showed that Pure can secure data in all forms (digital, cloud, and paper), and we also demonstrated the ability to:
- Provide a centrally managed framework that secures all information in one place
- Ensure organization-wide protection, including against technology-based risks and other threats
- Respond to evolving security threats
- Protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data
Of course, no certification can guarantee that an organization is 100% protected against online attacks. But with ISO 27001 certification, we can show customers and partners that we mean what we say when we talk about data security.
