We are very excited to share that Pure Storage has been positioned as a Leader in the new Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage. We believe this recognition, along with being named as a Customers’ Choice for File Systems and Object Storage in the March 2021 Gartner Peer Insights ‘Voice of the Customer’, is a direct reflection of our dedication to bringing innovations and solutions that meet our customers’ modern data challenges.

Five Years of Success and Counting

With the launch of FlashBlade® five years ago, we saw an opportunity to deliver a highly differentiated product to address the rapidly evolving file and object market in a new way. FlashBlade was purposely architected as a unified platform to deliver unmatched scalability, performance, and consolidation for our customers’ present and future unstructured data needs. And with FlashBlade’s extensive use cases spanning many verticals, including financial services, electronic design automation (EDA), healthcare, genomics, and media and entertainment, the solution has proven to be incredibly versatile.

As we look forward, FlashBlade continues to deliver the best performance for modern workloads, such as AI and analytics and high performance computing, as well as data protection and rapid restore/ransomware recovery. This is all enabled by our built-from-the-ground-up approach to delivering multi-dimensional performance and multi-protocol support with software and hardware designed around development principles for modern applications.

Since the beginning, Pure has been focused on identifying customer pain points and solving them. During my 10+ years here at Pure, I have seen our commitment to innovation by developing products that are simply unmatched by the competition. FlashBlade is the perfect example of this commitment. We continue to disrupt the file and object storage market by building for what’s actually needed by customers today with a future-proofed architecture- instead of making incremental improvements to what already exists. The recognition from Gartner for our products is an incredible motivator and a true validation for our vision.

Overcoming the Challenges of Data Growth

The volume of unstructured data is growing at an exponential rate, creating greater complexity challenges. In fact, Gartner predicts that by 2024, “Large enterprises will triple their unstructured data stored as file or object storage on-premises, at the edge, or in the public cloud, compared to 2020.” FlashBlade addresses these challenges by consolidating data silos and accelerating modern applications and workloads – while radically simplifying storage management. As the need for real-time insights from modern applications is picking up pace, these workloads rely on FlashBlade’s massively parallel architecture and multi-dimensional performance. Many of these applications require fast file and fast object storage—and the demand will continue to increase. A consolidated UFFO platform like FlashBlade offers organizations the ability to future proof their investment and easily handle any type of unstructured data that comes their way.

A Sincere Thanks to You

We are incredibly grateful for our position as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage. It’s an important moment, and we couldn’t have done it without our customers, partners, and the Pure team. A sincere thank you for all of your support and confidence in FlashBlade as we continue to pioneer our vision of UFFO storage.
